Série A (Brasil)

Football in Brazil has always been more than a sport — it is part of everyday public life, and Campeonato Brasileiro Série A stands at the top of that culture. It is where history meets modern professionalism, with clubs from across the country competing in one unified and well-structured championship.
The beginning of organised national football in Brazil is linked to 1971, when a league was created to bring together different regions. Before that, the country relied mainly on state competitions, which built strong local rivalries but did not offer a full national stage. The new format helped lay the foundations of modern Brazilian club football.
Over time, the league passed through different organisational models before settling into the stable 20-team system that remains in place today. The round-robin format creates equal competitive conditions and keeps the season alive from start to finish. The blend of sporting intensity and clear organisation has made Série A an established force in South American football.
One of the league’s defining features is the passion of its supporters. Stadium atmospheres are energetic and colourful, and many matches feel like football festivals. From São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, and from Porto Alegre to Recife, each fixture carries its own identity and local flavour. For football audiences in India, it is a league where emotion and quality often go hand in hand.

CR Vasco da Gama

Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1898 as a rowing club created by Brazilians, Portuguese-Brazilians and newly arrived Portuguese immigrants working in the city centre. The club’s name was chosen in honour of the 400th anniversary of Vasco da Gama’s voyage to India.
In 1915, the football team Lusitânia Sport Club became part of the organisation. This marked the beginning of Vasco’s football department, which developed within an already established structure. Alongside football, the club continued its activities in rowing, basketball, swimming, women’s football and beach football.
The organisation also maintains a youth academy focused on player development. Vasco da Gama is based in Rio de Janeiro, with its origins linked to the Saúde neighbourhood, while much of its traditional support historically came from the city’s northern zone and nearby areas.
Red Bull Bragantino

Football in Bragança Paulista is closely linked to a club whose development has passed through different organisational phases. Founded in 1928 as Clube Atlético Bragantino, the club emerged after disagreements within a local amateur team. For decades, it operated as a local sporting organisation and remained part of the city’s football environment.
In 2019, a partnership with Red Bull marked the beginning of a major transformation. Since 2020, the club has operated under the name Red Bull Bragantino as part of the company’s international sporting network.
The changes were also reflected in the club’s visual identity. Red was added to the traditional black-and-white colours, while the branding adopted the style associated with Red Bull. The symbolism evolved as well — the historical lion remained linked to the club’s earlier years, while the bull came to represent the newer stage of its development.
