Brazil is widely known for its strong connection with football, and Campeonato Brasileiro Série A stands at the centre of that tradition today. The road to the modern structure began with regional championships, which dominated Brazilian football through the first half of the 20th century. Those efforts later shaped the modern championship, which formally became Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 1971.

The league went through several changes in the following decades before the current format was settled in 2003. The season now runs across 38 matchdays, with every win and every point carrying weight in the title race and the battle for continental qualification places. This model has brought greater consistency and has helped clubs plan with a longer-term view. For football audiences in India, it remains one of the most competitive and unpredictable leagues outside Europe.

Red Bull Bragantino

Founded in 1928 as Clube Atlético Bragantino, the club began as a local sporting organisation in Bragança Paulista. Its creation followed disagreements within an amateur team and marked the beginning of a new football project. Over the following years, the club built a presence within the local sporting environment and became part of the city’s football culture.

A new phase started in 2019 with the partnership established with Red Bull. Since 2020, the club has operated as Red Bull Bragantino and become part of the company’s international sporting structure. This transition influenced both its organisation and its direction of development.

The changes were also reflected in the club’s visual identity. Red was added to the traditional black-and-white colours, while the branding adopted the style associated with Red Bull. The symbolism combines the lion from the club’s earlier years with the bull linked to its more recent phase of development.

SC Internacional

Sport Club Internacional was founded on April 4, 1909, in Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul. From its early years, the club built a reputation as a more accessible institution within the local football scene, which later became closely linked to the nickname “Clube do Povo”. Its development took place in a city shaped by a mix of cultural influences.

Red and white remain the club’s main colours, while supporters are widely known as “Colorados”. The badge traditionally features the initials SCI, and the current version was introduced in 2009 during the club’s centenary celebrations, adding a circular design and the founding year. The official mascot is Saci, a figure that emerged from earlier visual traditions connected to the club’s fan culture.

Internacional operates as a member-based sports association and independently manages its football activities. The club also runs a youth academy as part of its structure. Historically, its rivalry with Grêmio has remained one of the defining parts of football in Porto Alegre, with matches between the two sides known as the Grenal derby.
