Campeonato Brasileiro Série A

Football plays a central role in public life in Brazil, and Campeonato Brasileiro Série A is its clearest expression at club level. It is the country’s top division, bringing together twenty teams in a straightforward competitive structure. A round-robin format ensures equal conditions and keeps the season engaging from start to finish.
The league’s history reflects a long period of development. Before a national championship was introduced, the game was organised mainly through regional competitions, which shaped the club scene. In the second half of the 20th century, tournaments such as Taça Brasil and Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa laid the groundwork for the modern format, formally established in 1971.
Since then, the competition has gone through several organisational changes before settling into a more stable model. From 2003 onwards, it has followed a double round-robin system across 38 rounds, bringing clarity to the schedule and supporting a competitive environment. Each season produces new rivalries and unexpected turns, helping maintain interest in the league both within Brazil and abroad.

SE Palmeiras

The history of Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras began as a local initiative that gradually developed into a club with a wider role in São Paulo sport. Founded in 1914 as Palestra Itália, it emerged within an active immigrant community that used organised sport as a form of expression. The change of name to Palmeiras in 1942 marked a new stage in its development.
Football remains at the centre of its activity, but the organisation extends beyond a single sport. Palmeiras runs women’s and youth teams, alongside sections in basketball, judo, boxing and gymnastics. This expansion reflects a broader range of operations.
The club is associated with green and white, and is widely known by nicknames such as Alviverde, Periquito and Porco. Matches are played at Allianz Parque, opened in 2014, following the club’s earlier use of the Palestra Itália ground.
Associação Chapecoense de Futebol

Associação Chapecoense de Futebol is based in western Santa Catarina, where professional football had a limited presence for much of the 20th century. Located in the industrial city of Chapecó, known for its agribusiness sector, the club was formed as an attempt to create a more stable football structure.
It was founded on 10 May 1973 through the merger of Atlético Chapecoense and Independente, bringing local playing resources into a single organisation. The club operates as a member-based association, with the professional team managed internally. At various points, organisational changes have taken place, including the use of the name Associação Chapecoense Kindermann/Mastervet.
The team’s identity is built around green and white, along with a crest featuring the initials ACF and a set of stars. Nicknames such as Chape, Verdão do Oeste and Furacão do Oeste are used in reference to its regional context.
