Campeonato Brasileiro Série A

Among leading domestic leagues worldwide, Campeonato Brasileiro Série A holds a distinctive place, shaped by its history and the intensity around it. It reflects the character of football in Brazil—fast-moving and varied. Run by the Brazilian Football Confederation, it brings together twenty clubs from across the country, competing in a round-robin format over 38 matches.
The game in Brazil first developed at regional level, with each area running its own competitions and local derbies. A national structure began to take shape in the second half of the 20th century, as tournaments such as Taça Brasil and Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa created a platform for clubs from different regions to meet. From 1971 onwards, this evolved into the country’s top division.
Over time, the championship went through a number of organisational changes before settling into a more stable format in the early 2000s. The current system, built around twenty teams, provides clear rules and a steady rhythm across the season, with each campaign bringing new match-ups and storylines. This consistency has played a key role in how the league has developed.
CR Vasco da Gama

Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama was founded on 21 August 1898 in Rio de Janeiro as a rowing club. Its founders included workers from the city centre, among them Brazilians, Portuguese-Brazilians and newly arrived Portuguese immigrants. The club’s early roots are linked to the Saúde district.
In 1915, Lusitânia Sport Club was brought into the organisation, marking the start of its football section, which developed alongside the club’s other activities. Vasco has remained a multi-sport club, with disciplines extending beyond football.
Much of its support has been associated with the northern areas of Rio de Janeiro and nearby towns. Historically, the club became known for allowing participation regardless of race, social background or origin.
Clube Atlético Mineiro

Clube Atlético Mineiro is a professional football club based in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, one of the main football centres in southeastern Brazil. Commonly known as Atlético Mineiro and nicknamed Galo, the club uses the abbreviation CAM, derived from its official name. Founded on 25 March 1908 by a group of students, it initially operated as Athletico Mineiro Foot Ball Club before adopting its current name. In its early years, it developed as an organisation open to a broad social base.
The team’s image is built around consistent visual and symbolic elements. Its traditional home kit features black-and-white vertical stripes, while the away kit is typically all white. The main crest is a shield with the initials CAM at the top and stripes below, complemented by a gold star as part of the design. The rooster motif is closely associated with the club and links directly to the nickname Galo.
